First of many collaborations to follow between YOOX and OrphanAid Africa, is designer Ileana Makri's Bracelet: emblematic of a true search for sense and beauty.
OrphanAid Africa, a non profit organization supporting orphans and vulnerable children in Ghana, is connected to Fashion from the very beginning: in fact its founder is Lisa Lovatt-Smith, a former editor at Vogue magazine. It only seems consequential that Margherita Maccapani Missoni decided to give her full support to the organization, not only by visiting Ghana but also by encouraging the Fashion world and designers to participate in the project, thus reuniting style and creativity with a common search for beauty and meaning. Designers' creations dedicated to the cause will be sold online exclusively on YOOX as well as at selected boutiques like Jeffrey's, Colette, and Corso Como 10. The proceeds will benefit the organization.
The project is part of the YOOX for LOVE initiative, which brings together different creative worlds in the common desire to create original projects that are both ethical and aesthetical.
