Hussein Chalayan was born in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1970 and graduated from Central St Martin’s School of Art and Design in 1993. He launched his own label in 1994 and was named British Designer of the Year in both 1999 and 2000. He is renowned worldwide for his diverse work across art, fashion and film and his aesthetic draws on varying disciplines such as architecture, philosophy and anthropology
