IITTALA

CandelabrasYOOX Collection: Autumn-Winter

Dimensions: Height: 19,0 cm
Details: A legendary shape. Alvar Aalto created the Aalto vase in different forms, sizes and colours for Iittala in 1936, presenting it officially at the international exposition in Paris in 1937. As often happens with great works of art, the vase’s shape has been reinterpreted over time. Alvar Aalto would never say how his glass objects should be used, letting the user decide on his own. This freedom of interpretation of the object’s function is one of the reasons why the Aalto collection is always fresh and contemporary. Pieces can be presented together or stand alone like a work of art, a true pleasure to own and to give. The Aalto vase is one of the most famous glass objects and can be found in the most important museums worldwide: a symbol of Finnish glass art and Iittala.
Design that endures over time and improves with everyday use. Iittala proposes objects for those not adhering to the "disposable" culture of today, but prefer to invest in pieces that were made to last. Uniting high-quality craftsmanship with the world's best designers, littala creations will remain favourites over time.
