Mawi, designer and tireless traveler of Indian descent, and Tim, the son of an antiques collector, met 16 years ago in London, which was to become their home, their inspiration and the springboard for the launch of the Mawi brand. Following the excellent and unexpected results of an initial handmade accessories collection, the duo decided to transform their passion for vintage and their treasure trove of ideas collected over time into a jewelry project. Mawi launched in 2003 during London Fashion Week and gained immediate acclaim from the press and adoration from the public, both of whom were struck by the irresistible mix of ethnic cultures, grand tradition and London appeal.
