Founded in 2003, the Bologna-based company acquired the name MOMABOMA from the acronym based on the members of the Longati family: the dog MOreno, the cat MArta, BOmbo - the wife, Claudia's, nickname - and MAurizio, the brand's founder. Momaboma's bags are unique, entirely created from recycled materials. The most popular model is made from cement bags, paired with woven polypropolene net. Other materials employed are: vintage magazines, old T-shirts, homework worksheets, discarded mattresses from the Italian army, used canvas sails, and vinyl records.
