Born in Milan in 1931, former director of Casabella, Modo and Domus, winner of a Compasso d'Oro and designer of the Groninger Museum in Groningen, the Casino in Arosa, the Forum in Omegna, he is a designer, architect and image consultant for Philips, Swarovski, Swatch, and Bisazza.
The Officina Alessi line unites products that are refined, innovative, and produced in limited quantities. These objects are results of research conducted with a high level of formal, constructive, and functional innovation--often experimental, and free from the limitations imposed by industrial mass-production. It's a laboratory for advanced ideas generated by over 60 of the world's leading contemporary designers.
