The sense/nonsense of Mendini’s words is a poetic and aesthetic message in his language as author/artist/director/craftsman of the composition. These ceramic totems created for Superego express a metaphysical tension in their similar yet always different individual forms, both harmonious and mock-classical. The methodological approach derives from post-modernity. Sense with a capital S is in the study of modules, leitmotifs and the individual forms of each element, which when combined together unify the group’s colour scheme. A limited edition series, 50 pieces.

The project Superego was conceived of in 2003 at Movimento Moderno, a company operating in the design, decorative arts and modern antiques sector. With the cooperation of some of the most important Italian and international designers, Superego sets out to create exclusive collections of limited edition ceramic and plexiglass design items.
