Gaetano Pesce

Gaetano Pesce was born in La Spezia in 1939. He earned his degree in architecture and industrial design in Venice in 1965. He became a leader of Radical Design, the trend in the Sixties that experimented with new materials in the design of furniture. In 1972, he participated in the exhibition "Italy: The New Domestic Landscape" held at New York's MoMA. His creations are known for their multi-sensorial aspects, their irony, the experiments with colours and textures. He's been living in New York since 1980.
The aim of the Zerodesign project is to create collections of furniture and objects that stand out for their quality, innovation, and creative content. The project is renowned for its multi-disciplinary approach: art, design, graphics and photography are all expressed using unconventional materials and techniques. The great artists who collaborate with Zerodisegno are liberated from the confines of mass production and given free license to create work of strong visual and emotional impact, carried out in part by a team of passionate and skilled expert producers.
