More about this item
Gè is a suspension lamp fixed to the ceiling with a decorated polycarbonate rosette, whose shape brings to mind antique Venetian chandeliers. It features a 14.6 in (37 cm) diameter lampshade with a heavily pleated surface. Gè is made entirely of polycarbonate and is available in two versions: the first offers transparency and soft, sophisticated colours, while the second provides the impact of black and white combined with gold, as well as the chrome version.
More about Ferruccio Laviani
Ferruccio Laviani is part of a generation of young Italian designers who came to prominence in the early 1990's when the Memphis movement made its mark on international design. Laviani's Orbital Lamp, manufactured by Foscarini, perhaps his best known design, uses colour-saturated biomorphic shapes for glass shades, with an angular, tapering metal base. Supernova™' clever design combines shape, shadow and light to exude an explosive movement. His Bourgie lamp combines classical design with the modern material of plastic to give a contemporary and elegant look.
