A young designer and rising star, Caterina Gatta reinterprets iconic Lancetti dresses. The shapes, colours and patterns of the storied House are brought back to life, gaining a modern air thanks to Caterina's artisanal creations.

Six collectable pieces on display at the Mercati di Traiano in Rome and exclusively for yoox.com, the project's online retail and media partner.
LANCETTI/ RE-EDITION
For its latest talent scouting project, yoox.com has once again joined forces with Altaroma, presenting LANCETTI/ RE-EDITION by Caterina Gatta, a young Italian designer and rising star. Melding the past and the future, Lancetti/ Re-Edition pays homage to a legendary designer of the past through the eyes of a promising talent of the future.

Gatta, in fact, breathes new life into the creations of this storied brand, founded in Rome by Pino Lancetti in 1961. Lancetti was one of the first designers to be inspired by the figurative arts, garnering him the nickname of "painter designer".

The extraordinary prints that catapulted Lancetti to fame have kindled Caterina's creative spark with six dresses, an ankle boot and a scarf, all exclusive collectors' items.
28-year-old Caterina was born in Rome, where she made her fashion foray in 2008. Her clothes are fashioned with vintage fabrics by Versace, Lancetti, Fausto Sarli, Pierre Cardin, Givenchy and Valentino amongst others, not out of nostalgia but fuelled by the desire to spotlight a typically Italian creative vein in terms of colours, patterns and prints. Re-Edition further gravitates towards Caterina's past-future axis.
The items will be displayed at the Mercati di Traiano in Rome and can be purchased straight from the exhibition exclusively on yoox.com.
