More about this item
This classic icon of the bedside lamp has been revisited by Kartell technology and transformed into an industrial product. Made of transparent or opaque injected-moulded polycarbonate, Take is available in various colours. The shape is derived from the joining of two mirror-images: two flat, rectangular and two-dimensional plates which each assume the shape and volume of a half-lamp. The internal pleating of the lampshade embellishes the item, creating a play of light when the lamp is turned on.
More about Ferruccio Laviani
Ferruccio Laviani is part of a generation of young Italian designers who came to prominence in the early 1990's when the Memphis movement made its mark on international design. Laviani's Orbital Lamp, manufactured by Foscarini, perhaps his best known design, uses colour-saturated biomorphic shapes for glass shades, with an angular, tapering metal base. Supernova™' clever design combines shape, shadow and light to exude an explosive movement. His Bourgie lamp combines classical design with the modern material of plastic to give a contemporary and elegant look.
