Set of 2 plates. Mediterraneo is a striking dinner service with different sized plates resembling the irregular shapes of rocks on sand, designed to create the effect of walking along the seaside on your table. The material used is also original – black stoneware that is pleasing to the touch, a nod to the ceramics produced by ancient Mediterranean civilisations. Elegant in its utter simplicity, Mediterraneo creates a contemporary yet sophisticated table.

The architects Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli have been working together since 1986 at their studios in Rome and Milan. They work in the fields of design (for Driade, Montina, Fiam, O luce, Salviati and others), interior design and exhibit design (such as the important retrospective “Gio Ponti: a World” at the London Design Museum and at the Triennial Exhibition of Milan in 2002-2003). Recently in Rome they designed the restoration of the Museum of Roman Civilization for Fiat Engineering. In addition to their design work both dedicate time to studying and writing on topics involving living and design: Marta Laudani teaches “History of Design” for the master’s programme for curators of contemporary art and architecture museums at La Sapienza University in Rome, and Marco Romanelli has written for the magazines Domus and Abitare.
