More about Jakob Wagner
With regards to his design philosophy, Jakob says: "I often look to create a kind of balanced tension between opposites. In a playful way, I oppose the static with the dynamic, the symmetric with the asymmetric, the masculine with the feminine, the organic with the geometric and so on. It's a challenge to our senses that brings the work to life and evokes feeling. To be honest, I force myself to not leave too much of a recognisable mark on the final design, the object should speak for itself -- as if the shape is the result of the idea in the same way evolution works in nature." Born in Copenhagen in 1963, where he still lives and works, Jakob Wagner counts among his clients B&B Italia, Moroso, Magis, Fornasarig and Hay. His works are often featured in exhibitions throughout Northern Europe and the rest of the world, like New York's Museum of Modern Art di New York, where one of his creations was included in their permanent collection for the first time in 2006.
