Born in 1930, Gehry graduated with a degree in architecture from the University of Southern California and studied city planning at the Harvard Graduate School of Design. He has designed public and private buildings in America, Japan and, more recently, in Europe. He received the Pritzker Architecture Prize in 1989 and the Wolf Prize in Art in 1992. His works have been published around the world. The largest retrospective exhibition of his work, “The Architecture of Frank O. Gehry”, was organized by the Walker Art Center in 1986 and travelled to the most important American museums. Among Gehry’s most significant projects is the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao.
