About the artist
Charles Lutz: Lutz's paintings and sculptures confront socioeconomic issues present in society at large sometimes using the world of Contemporary Art as a mirror. His work challenges the notion of originality through the use of found imagery ranging from auction catalogs to contemporary advertising, stock photography to Photoshop filters, and music videos to surveillance videos to name a few. Lutz is currently working on installations for the Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh, PA, the Warhol Museum, Pittsburgh, PA, and his first major solo show at New York's C24 Gallery for January 2013. His work has been reviewed in publications such as Artforum.com, The Wall Street Journal, Surface Magazine, The Independent (UK) and Time Out New York. He has exhibited internationally including group exhibitions at the historic Terminal 5 at JFK Airport and the Olin Gallery at Roanoke College in Salem, VA. He holds a BA in painting from the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. ( Born: Pittsburgh, PA 1982)
