Acid house music forms the silent soundtrack to this piece by John Armleder. Consisting of a mirrored surface featuring a serigraph-printed smiley, the piece draws both the viewer and the surrounding space into an endless game of reflections and allusions, transforming every one of us into a protagonist of his work as he transports us to the happy place represented by one of the world's most iconic symbols (invented by designer Harvey Ball in the 1960s as the logo for the State Mutual Life Assurance Company of Worcester, Massachusetts).
