Set of 4 wine glasses. These blown glasses designed by Marco Zanuso in 1969 are hand finished. The designer played in an unusual way with the contrast between the circular form of the glass and its triangular base.
Marco Zanuso was an architect, designer and urban planner with a polished, efficient approach, in both his communication and his designs, which are amongst the most esteemed, award-winning works of the twentieth century. Remembered for his objects that dominate the collective imagination, such as the TS502 radio or the Algol television for Brionvega, which he created in collaboration with Richard Supper, with whom he worked from 1957 to 1970, Zanuso is considered one of the founders of Italian design. However, he is also a great architect with notable industrial projects to his name, such as the Olivetti showroom in Buenos Aires, producing innovative structural solutions based on modular elements, that respond to the need for structural extension. Winner of an impressive seven Compasso d’Oro awards, an award hosted by the Associazione per il Disegno Industriale and of which he was amongst the founders, as well as five Gold Medals and three Gran Premio awards at the Triennale di Milano, Zanuso was amongst the great protagonists of the modernist discussion of the post-war period, with a strong interest in industrial production and highly attentive to all areas of technological innovation.
