The butterfly design applied to this wooden stool, printed and painted by hand, is one of the most classic, and the most recurrent among Fornasetti creations. Even today, the colourers at the atelier create this design by hand-colouring every butterfly and accurately following the colour schemes on original paper taken from Piero's archive, who originally developed and applied this decoration on a huge number of objects from his output.
