Always true to his complex, iconoclastic and explosive philosophy, the designer and artist has been creating daringly fluid forms and overlapping colours for over 20 years in a dynamic and ever-shifting equilibrium where every piece is one-of-a-kind. Marrying industrial production with the work of an artist, and subverting both simultaneously, Gaetano Pesce brings artistic flair to the versatility of resin, his material of choice, playing with the randomness inherent to processes that do not allow aesthetic compromises.     Gaetano Pesce believes that architecture and design should be a "representation of reality" and a "document of the times". It is no coincidence that this great architect, designer and sculptor took part in the key exhibition "Italy: a new domestic landscape" at the MoMA in New York in 1972 with an installation of imaginary "archaeological documents" from a hypothetical "contaminated society". An archaeology of the future that is open to the imagination of reality, in search of a freedom of expression that makes him first and foremost an artist in the broadest sense of the term and that made him a key figure at the Italian Pavilion at the 2011 Biennale di Venezia. Having trained at the Venice School of Architecture, and one of the founders of the Padua Gruppo N – undisputed masters of kinetic and programmed art – Gaetano Pesce is an unconventional and multidisciplinary designer, an explorer of fusion and of cross-contamination between genres who, with humour and curiosity, has produced some of the most emblematic, extravagant and successful experiments of Italian industrial design.
