Anglepoise
Anglepoise Lamps, Makers of the Original 1227. Through this blunt statement, Anglepoise lays claim to the production of the table lamp, but not only: it takes responsibility for the most famous and anthropomorphic lamp of all time. Fitted at the end of the thirties with a perfect mechanism of balance and movement – designed by car designer George Carwadine – they are as practical as they are efficient in terms of energy. Anglepoise lamps represent the change in the lighting paradigm that has never looked back. Thus, for eighty years Anglepoise has produced and reinterpreted its lamps, from the mythical Original 1227 of 1993 to the surprising giant version of 2005, up to the colourful Paul Smith version of 2014. The Anglepoise lamp combines utmost flexibility and perfect balance – obtained through its constant-force springs – with the delight of possessing a myth, now considered by everyone the greatest table lamp of all.
