In the 1980s, Adriana, Claudio and Roberto Bagante, from a family that had already been making shoes for 30 years, decided to alter some leftover stock. With a friend who worked as a fashion jeweler, they embellished the shoes from past collections, transforming them into unique items: Bejeweled shoes. At the end of the 1980s, the intuition of adding shine and color through fashion jewelry accessories made exclusively for shoes gave rise to a veritable Apepazza boom, which became one of the major European manufacturers of sandals and rope-soled shoes such as the classic espadrilles. Today, the company produces different kind of shoes, such as sneakers, loafers and boots.
