Just like Nordic light, products from the Danish brand Normann Copenhagen are extremely elegant and airy. Without a doubt, they are one of the highest expressions of contemporary Scandinavian design. Founded in 1999 by Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen, Normann Copenhagen has taken a fresh look at its legacy products adding a modern twist, a strategy that has been very successful all over the world right from the beginning. The company started out making lamps and then furniture, maintaining its signature style that skilfully combines an extroverted application of color, structure and functionality with an aesthetic that is innovative, light and eye-catching. A prime example is Simon Karkov's famous Norm 69 lamp, the brand's first major success. The lamp features seemingly chaotic overlapping of geometric shapes with a sophisticated, perfectly uniform overall vision. All of the products produced by this brand successfully balance retro traits with formal innovation.
