Naoto Fukasawa

Born in 1956 in the prefecture of Yamanashi, Japan. After having collaborated with IDEO in the U.S. for 8 years, he then became director of IDEO in Japan and in 2003 he created the studio ""Naoto Fukasawa Design"". He is currently working on the organisation of a series of workshops and exhibitions called ""without thought"" with various in-house designers from different companies and with which he will oversee the resulting publications. At the invitation of New York's MoMA, his piece ""Personal Skies"" is part of the exhibition ""Workspheres"". He has won numerous prizes, including the prestigious Japanese “Mainichi Design Award” in April 2003. In September of the same year, he created the new brand “±0”, with which he presented a new design for household electronics and accessories for interiors. During the 2008 edition of Milan's Salone del Mobile he was voted Designer of the Year.
