Adidas, whose name is based on the initials of its founder Adolf Dassler, is a German brand founded in 1949. An interesting fact about this company is that it was the result of an unresolved rivalry between the Dassler brothers, manufacturers of sports shoes who went their separate ways in the 1940s, establishing two different companies. Soon, Adidas became a brand beloved by athletes in several disciplines and today produces clothing, footwear and equipment appealing to the general market, too.
