Zanotta
Zanotta is both the history and the present of Italian design, thanks to collaborations with iconic names on the design scene, such as Aulenti, Colombo, Lovegrove, Mendini, Mollino, Munari, Sottsass, Zanuso and more. It it also thanks to entrepreneurial capacity, technological research and versatility that the brand is not bound to one single material, but to a whole host of media, spanning from metals to plastic, from crystal to marble and granite, and from wood to fabrics and leather. Founded in 1954, Zanotta is the proud manufacturer of some of the most emblematic pieces in the history of international design. These include the Mezzadro stool from the Castiglioni brothers, the Sacco beanbag chair from Gatti-Paolini-Teodoro, and the three Compasso d’Oro awards won with Roberto Menghi, De Pas-D'Urbino-Lomazzi and Enzo Mari to name but a few. Thanks to coherent yet non-conformist design principles, Zanotta production now takes up a significant number of pages in design history books, and is exhibited in the world’s largest museums, such as the MoMA in New York and the Pompidou Centre in Paris.
