Georg Jensen
Georg Jensen is the name of a famous Danish silversmith, sculptor, and founder of the 100 year-old brand of the same name. Today the brand is synonymous with artistic craftsmanship of the highest quality and unmistakable style, whilst internationally recognized as a leading exponent of fine Scandinavian design. Born in 1904 at the height of Art Nouveau, on the waves of the Arts and Crafts movement, Georg Jensen’s workshop fused his academic artistic preparation with an apprenticeship with a master silversmith. Perhaps of utmost importance was his appreciation for the atmosphere that is still alive today, where artists are free to express themselves creatively with their projects. Over the course of a century, many designers like Gundolph Albertus, Nanna Ditzel, Arne Jacobsen, Henning Koppel, Harald Nielsen and Johan Rohde collaborated with the brand, contributing to the definition of its style and the success of its name. This century of tradition and research has contributed extraordinary objects of great beauty and quality.
